Work Golf Tourney

So this year I decided to participate in the work golf tourney. It was held at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course. After a quick lunch we headed out to start. My group which consisted of myself, Malinda, Nolan and my designated cart driver, Christie- started out on the 18th hole. While we were far from the best group there, we had a great time! I was so glad that Christie decided to come a long for the ride, it was so much fun to have her there, and I'm pretty sure she had a lot of fun driving around in the golf cart. It is a beautiful course, and I was pretty happy with how I did. I could have done better, of course, but I felt like I held my own in the group. We played best ball, and we used mine a good share of the time. Afterwards at the raffle I won a gift certificate to the pro shop at the clubhouse and a VISA gift card that Malinda had them give me as one of the only women to play in the tournament that year. I'll take it! It was a long day, but so much fun. I really do like playing golf.....now if I could only find time to go more :)

LPGA Tour here I come......well not quite yet

My latest thing I have been attempting to take up is golf. However, I don't really get out that much and I really lack having someone to go with all the time. My brother in law, Justin, is great and humors me in my attempt. He is very patient, and offers numerous tips on helping me improve my game. I just wish I could remember all of them. In preparation for my company golf tourney, that I decided to participate in, I asked Justin and Nicole to go with me for some practice. So after work a couple of Saturday's ago, we went down to the East Bay course and did their 7 hole executive course. It was a lot of fun, and a lot less intimidating. All the holes are either par 3 or 4--so it goes a lot faster as well. Nicole is such a trooper and she came along as well, 8 months pregnant and all. And she's not too shabby people. It was a good warm up for the tourney, I was feeling pretty good about things. Thanks you 2, it was a great afternoon! My game---still PLENTY of room for improvement.

Arizona Girls Come for a Visit

Marcie and Holly came to visit the end of July--it was so great to have them here. It had been awhile since they had come to Utah for a visit. They flew in on Thursday night and we stayed up that night and visited. The next day was the 24th of July- a state holiday here in Utah. I took the day off work and we just hung out. We did find plenty of shopping of course! That night we went to my parents house for homemade ice cream and fireworks. The girls had never done fireworks before--they are illegal in AZ. So we did fireworks with the Fam and we also had plenty of sparklers--which was a hoot!! So much fun. The next day we went to the Oquiarh Mountain Temple Open House, and to see Harry Potter later that evening. Sunday afternoon, after church we went to Midway to stay in a B&B. It was so much fun! We just hung around read our books and visited. Monday we drove to SLC and hung out, had lunch with a friend of Marcie's and then it was time to take them to the airport. I was sad to see them go, we had such a great time. They are awesome friends and we always have such a fab time when we get together! Love ya girls!!!

2nd Annual California Baseball Trip

Well-it was time again. Last year's trip was totally last minute, this year we did a little more planning, but once again Ally & I headed to CA for some baseball games. We left on Thursday afternoon and made great time to Vegas where we ran into multiple construction issues that continued into California. It was a little frustrating but eventually we made it. The next day we hit the beach! It was great. We went to Huntington Beach were we pretty much hung out all day. And let me tell you, the beach is a great people watching venue, almost as good as the airport.

After some good beach time it was back to the hotel to get ready for game number 1, Angels vs Yankees. It was a fun game even if I did have to sit next to a guy who felt the need for running conversation with me instead of watching the game. He never got the clue that this girl was actually interested in WATCHING the game. The Yankee's ended up loosing, but it was a good game. And yes mom Jeter looked good, got you a few pics. :)
The next morning we got out of bed and headed to Disneyland before hitting the afternoon game. We ended up sitting directly in the sun the entire game. I thought I might just melt in my chair--however, that being said our seats were sweet. We were field level, 1st base line by the Yankee bench. And once again it was a good game but the Yankee's ended up losing. I'm beginning to think its us--2 years in a row and they loose all 4 games we've been to. After that it was back to Disneyland with our Tinkerbell wings. We got lots of looks, mostly from envious 5-8 year old girls. I heard one girl say, "oh they have fairy wings" I have a feeling she ended up with some too. But what can I say, we probably started a trend with wings that night. It was a great trip and so much fun! Here's to next year- maybe the Yanks can pull out a win this time!
