4th of July

Its hard to believe it was time to celebrate the 4th of July-again. That pretty much means the summer is halfway over--where does the time go! It was a pretty relaxed day. Nicole and I went to breakfast with Andrea who is in town visiting-yay! It was really good to see her and breakfast at Kneaders is always good. Later that day mom, Ally and I went to the pool to lay in the sun, which was great. Then we had a little BBQ at the house and then later that evening we did fireworks with Tyler, Zach, Todd & Kristy. Dad and I had purchased some fireworks earlier in the day and the boys had fun with them. It was a great day!

The Symphony at Sundance

Last Friday, my mom, Kristy, Cara and I went up to Sundance to listen to the Utah Symphony give a performance at the amphitheater. It was really a lot of fun. They opened the night with music from Star Wars--which I loved. They closed with some patriotic marches which were also good. Sundance is really beautiful. And Robert Redford even showed up once the performance had started--he was sitting in the section over from us. It was a fun evening and I really enjoyed the performance.
love my poppies and rice krispie treats!

Happy Birthday!!

June 28th--Nicole and Ashton's birthday's! We celebrated at Mom & Dad's with cake and ice cream and the family. Nicole had made Ashton a Curious George cake--he loves that monkey. With that theme I found Ash a Curious George t-shirt at the GAP that was awesome--he loved it (as much as a 2 year old can appreciate clothes on his b-day). But it was a great afternoon--Happy B-day you too, hope it was great!!!

Lehi Days Celebration-5K

It was Lehi Days the week of June 22-27th. I signed mom and I up to "run" the 5k this year. It started at 7:00 am and they actually started on time this year-YAY! We were pretty pleased with ourselves, for 2 non-runners. I took off running and ended up making it in about 36 minutes-not to shabby for this girl who as I said-is not a runner. Mom came in about 3 minutes after me at 39 minutes. When we later checked our times on the website they had divided everyone up into different age groups. My age group was of course one with the most participants, but mom came in 1st place in her division!! (ok it turns out she was the only one in her division, but still, 1st place is 1st place, and she even won a prize) Way to go mom!! We are on a bit of a roll now with 2 5K's this year, and we are thinking of doing the one in AF in a couple of weeks. We think if we actually did any training at all we could bet fairly decent at these. I've never done much running but I think the fact that it isn't a real long distance gives me hope that one of these days I can run the whole thing with no walking--that's the goal anyway!
