Work Christmas Party

It was the annual work party last night. I have to say this year was a lot better than last year for me. It was at the Grand America in SLC again, but the entertainment this year was so much better. They hired a hypnotist this year and it didn't disappoint. I love watching hypnotist shows, its crazy to watch people up on stage doing whatever they are told. It was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. And as always its good to be with good work friends. Going to work wouldn't be the same without them. The party always reminds me how lucky I am to have a job I like and work with people that are fun and that I consider good friends. Merry Christmas!!

Dashboard Confessional

The girls and I went to the Dashboard Confessional concert on Friday night. It was at a club, In the Venue, in SLC. We had such a good time. I really enjoyed the concert even though I didn't know tons of their music. The whole concert was acoustic, and it rocked. He did sing Vindicated and Stolen which are two of my favs. I have to say I couldn't sing a long with all the songs, but they have a ton of fans in Utah. It was good times!

BYU VS UTAH game

Well it was the last game of the regular season-home against Utah. The Utes beat the Cougars last year. Its always a crazy game and this year was no exception. It went to over time this year, and I was so worried the entire game. But looking back now I can appreciate more the game, but while in the middle of it I wasn't sure what was going to happen. But the Cougars ended up winning in overtime, with and awesome TD pass from Hall to George. I could watch it over and over again. Mom and I hung out afterwards, mostly because we couldn't make ourselves leave yet(or more I couldn't leave). BYU also wore throw back jerseys from 25 years ago, which was so cool. I love seeing them come out of the tunnel wearing old cougar blue. Awesome win and a great way to end the season!

Aubrey's Blessing

Just a few pictures from Aubrey's blessing day. She wore the dress Nicole was blessed in that my mom made and she wore the little booties that I wore when i was blessed, which I thought was really cool--totally retro!

Cali Trip & Jazz Game

Mom and I went to Newport Beach, CA for a few days. For me it was complete, R&R--mom had to go to meetings yay for her! It was a great couple of days, I pretty much spent most of my time at the beach, laying by the pool or at the mall. It was a great little getaway before the holiday's hit and the weather was fantastic, I didn't want to come home!

Ally & I went to our 1st Jazz game of the season, Jazz vs Spurs--Jazz won so it was a good night! I realized I didn't take too many pictures of either occasion so I decided to post them together.

Concert Time

I do enjoy a good concert. The girls and I (Dede, Laura & Adrienne) hit the Mat Kearny concert. It was so good! I had wanted to see him for awhile and he came to SLC in October. I had do much fun. Laura was able to get the set list from the lighting guy, which I think is a cool thing to get. Thanks girls--it was a great night!

Halloween 2009

This year for Halloween at work we went back to the 80's--made me think of all those great 80's movies like 16 Candles and Pretty in Pink. I wore a dress that my cousin Jenn wore so it was authentic (she was in high school in the 80's). It was a lot of fun and thanks to our friend/co-worker Rod, who played along with us as our prom date. He looked great, check out those pegged pants!

Mom had a Halloween party for the grand kids. I wanted to wear my pink wig so I pulled out the Tinkerbell wings from D-land to go with them. Mom put on a great party complete with a doughnut eating contest and fish pond. Good times!

Football Games

Wow---me and the blogging have not been going that good lately. Time has really gotten away from me & I guess I feel like not much has really been going on, but I'll see if I can come up with a few things. Here are a few pic's from some football games. The season started out so promising, and after that its been up and down, but what do you do. There have been some fun games and some not so fun games. I did go to Las Vegas to visit Micia and bonus--BYU was playing UNLV that weekend, so we hit up the game, which was lots of fun. It was great to visit with Micia, I miss that girl. It was a great weekend, and a much needed get away!!

BYU 14 Oklahoma 13

Well college football season for me has officially started, and any of you that have been following this blog at all for the past year know how much I blog about BYU games--because I LOVE IT! This Saturday the Cougars opened the 2009 season at the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium against 3rd ranked Oklahoma, whose QB, Sam Bradford, won the Heisman Trophy last year. I have to admit, even though I tend to be the fan who always thinks her team can win, regardless of the situation, was just hoping for a decent showing. Well I got way more than that. It was an intense game, and I was in knots the entire game. At one point as it was getting down to the wire I was laying behind the couch hoping for the best as Justin was giving me the updates over the announcers. Don't worry I got up and saw the important stuff! It was an awesome game and I'm still in a little awe that they won, but I have to say it was a little bittersweet for me at the end--see I had a ticket to go to the game. It was in my hand at one point, but due to some circumstances beyond my control I had to give up my ticket and I didn't get to go. Man was I disappointed. I just kept thinking, I'm suppose to be there. It was a little rough to take, especially since they won. But an awesome win for the team and I'm looking forward to the year, I hope they can keep the momentum going!

Work Golf Tourney

So this year I decided to participate in the work golf tourney. It was held at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course. After a quick lunch we headed out to start. My group which consisted of myself, Malinda, Nolan and my designated cart driver, Christie- started out on the 18th hole. While we were far from the best group there, we had a great time! I was so glad that Christie decided to come a long for the ride, it was so much fun to have her there, and I'm pretty sure she had a lot of fun driving around in the golf cart. It is a beautiful course, and I was pretty happy with how I did. I could have done better, of course, but I felt like I held my own in the group. We played best ball, and we used mine a good share of the time. Afterwards at the raffle I won a gift certificate to the pro shop at the clubhouse and a VISA gift card that Malinda had them give me as one of the only women to play in the tournament that year. I'll take it! It was a long day, but so much fun. I really do like playing golf.....now if I could only find time to go more :)

LPGA Tour here I come......well not quite yet

My latest thing I have been attempting to take up is golf. However, I don't really get out that much and I really lack having someone to go with all the time. My brother in law, Justin, is great and humors me in my attempt. He is very patient, and offers numerous tips on helping me improve my game. I just wish I could remember all of them. In preparation for my company golf tourney, that I decided to participate in, I asked Justin and Nicole to go with me for some practice. So after work a couple of Saturday's ago, we went down to the East Bay course and did their 7 hole executive course. It was a lot of fun, and a lot less intimidating. All the holes are either par 3 or 4--so it goes a lot faster as well. Nicole is such a trooper and she came along as well, 8 months pregnant and all. And she's not too shabby people. It was a good warm up for the tourney, I was feeling pretty good about things. Thanks you 2, it was a great afternoon! My game---still PLENTY of room for improvement.

Arizona Girls Come for a Visit

Marcie and Holly came to visit the end of July--it was so great to have them here. It had been awhile since they had come to Utah for a visit. They flew in on Thursday night and we stayed up that night and visited. The next day was the 24th of July- a state holiday here in Utah. I took the day off work and we just hung out. We did find plenty of shopping of course! That night we went to my parents house for homemade ice cream and fireworks. The girls had never done fireworks before--they are illegal in AZ. So we did fireworks with the Fam and we also had plenty of sparklers--which was a hoot!! So much fun. The next day we went to the Oquiarh Mountain Temple Open House, and to see Harry Potter later that evening. Sunday afternoon, after church we went to Midway to stay in a B&B. It was so much fun! We just hung around read our books and visited. Monday we drove to SLC and hung out, had lunch with a friend of Marcie's and then it was time to take them to the airport. I was sad to see them go, we had such a great time. They are awesome friends and we always have such a fab time when we get together! Love ya girls!!!
