New Christmas Tree

So I added a new small Christmas tree to my decorations this year. I was getting everything out yesterday and I was most excited about my little tree. While in Disneyland I came across some Mickey Christmas tree ornaments that I just had to bring home with me. And I LOVE THEM! I just had to share. I don't think these pictures are the best, but they will give you and idea of what they look like.

I love Christmas trees-probably my favorite part of decorating for Christmas.

Any Given Saturday

As most of you have guessed from multiple posts this year, I've become quite the BYU football fan. So yes I was pretty sad last week when they lost to the U. Its a hard one to swallow for and BYU fan. But as the saying goes, on any given day in the sporting world anything can happen. And while we suffered defeat, I do have to say that a 10-2 season is not to shabby. As a fan I always want my team to win every game, but we know that doesn't always happen. But I learned a long time ago if you are a true fan then you love the team in the good times and bad. And Thanks Ally & Mom for being there as we consoled each other after the loss. And while a bowl game still awaits, I already look forward to next year and see what Hall, Collie and Pitta can do.

So.....Rise and Shout! GO COUGARS!

California Trip

Well I'm just getting around to this, its been a busy couple of weeks, with Thanksgiving this week. A couple of weeks ago I went to California with my mom and my sister. It was so much fun! Mom was there for work, and Nicole and I were there for fun. We went to Disneyland, the beach and shopping, and I can't leave out 2 trips to In-N-Out, for us Utah girls that is still a treat--what a good time. We even rented a convertible-thanks Mom! Nicole and I were laughing because it ended up being a Sebring, which is of course what Michael from The Office use to drive.(just one of those things that make us laugh). Disneyland was great, the lines were never very long and we were able to hit all our favorite rides multiple times. Even though we were close enough to walk to the park one of mom's co-workers, Barney, shuttled us back and forth for 2 days-he ran the best shuttle service around! It was a great break right before the holidays. I wish I could have bottled up the weather and brought it home with me, 80 degrees is wonderful, and I'm already missing it!

Busy Weekend

We bought these sweet wristbands at Jon's concert

This past weekend was a busy, but fun one. A group of friends and I bought tickets 2 to concerts-on on Friday, Jon McLaughlin, and on Saturday, Matt Nathanson. Both of them were so good! If you aren't familiar with their music I would highly recommend checking them both out. I had such a good time. Jon is an amazing piano player- I was in awe watching him play, and the voice is pretty good to :). I wasn't familiar with most of his music--but I am now, I have been listening to his CD non-stop since. I was more familiar with Matt as I had seen him previously when he opened for one of my favorite bands, Lifehouse. Matt is quite the entertainer and so much fun on stage. He has some great music--I'm loving them both right now. In between both of those I managed to go to the last BYU home football game of the season and work on Saturday. It was busy, and lots going on but so much fun!

Margarita Tuesday

There is a Mexican restaurant by my house that advertises non-alcoholic margarita's on Tuesday 2 for $3. For the last few months, Ally, Micia and always laugh about and say we need to go. Well this past Tuesday, it finally happened---we made it to Margarita Tuesday! We had a lot of fun, as we always do. Chips, salsa, and strawberry margarita's. As it was an event months in the making, I had to take a few pictures to remember it by.

Me the Gangster

I have another funny story from work. If you saw my post a few weeks ago about my shoes and the receptionist of work, I have another one for you. Last Friday I felt like wearing a hat, I love hats. So I had on my black hat and a black t-shirt, nothing special (see picture). Well I came back from taking some things downstairs and as I walked past her she said, "Amy, you look like a gangster". I responded, good and walked back to my office laughing. The last thing I think I looked like was a gangster but I guess her idea of a gangster and mine are a little different! So I had to take a picture--what do you think, I tried my gangster pose!

Halloween Fun

For the last couple of years at my office there has been a group of us that put together a group costume for Halloween. For me it makes it so much more fun, as I'm not sure I would dress up on my own. But when it is 4 0r 5 us and we have a theme, it turns into lots of fun. This year we decided to go with an time period as our theme and we chose the Roaring 20's. So that meant Flapper Girls! In the 20's one of the ways women wore their hair was in finger waves and pin curls. As a graduate of beauty school I'm familiar with these things as they made us practice them all the time on our mannequins. But let me tell you--not my expertise at all!! Lucky for me, one of my co-workers at my salon is amazing at them! So thanks Steve, for the authentic hair for my Halloween costume this year, it was fantastic. It totally made the costume complete

This is how I slept in my hair the night before the big day. Not that comfortable at all. Here we are all put together, it turned out great!

And I got to have my picture taken with Superman as well- isn't he cute!
